Senior Technical Officer (MHPSS)

About the role

The Senior Technical Officer (MHPSS) supports the implementation and quality of mental health and psychosocial support activities in Southeast Myanmar. Reporting to the Program Manager, the role provides technical assistance, capacity building, and case management while traveling extensively across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support and mentorship to local partners, mobile health teams, and frontline workers.
• Deliver MHPSS case management, including screening, assessments, care planning, and referrals.
• Conduct mental health awareness, psycho‑education, group‑based psychosocial support, and individual counselling.
• Integrate evidence‑based interventions such as mhGAP into community health services.
• Coordinate with authorities, community leaders, and stakeholders to ensure safe, confidential, survivor‑centred services.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on activities through METAL processes.

Required profile

• Myanmar national with experience in MHPSS service delivery.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 90% of the time across Southeast Myanmar.
• Proven ability to conduct mental health assessments and develop care plans.
• Experience working with humanitarian partners and local authorities.
