Senior Logistics Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Logistics Manager to lead our global supply chain and freight forwarding operations. You will define end‑to‑end transport strategies, set optimal supplier shipping terms, and ensure cost‑effective movement of raw materials, equipment, and finished goods across international borders.

Key responsibilities

• Standardize Incoterms 2020 (EXW, FOB, CIF, DDP) across supplier contracts and collaborate with Procurement and Legal to define freight responsibilities.
• Resolve carrier and supplier disputes related to freight claims, demurrage, detention, and non‑compliance.
• Evaluate, select, and optimize transport modes (air, ocean LCL/FCL, overland trucking, rail, express courier) based on lead times, volume, budget, and cargo sensitivity.
• Develop routing plans that balance transit time and freight cost for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Oversee customs compliance, import/export documentation, tariff classification, and trade regulatory requirements.
• Standardize RFPs, evaluation criteria, and selection processes for 3PL providers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
• Define and monitor KPIs such as on‑time delivery, claims ratio, billing accuracy, and transit compliance.
• Lead annual contract renegotiations and rate lock‑ins with primary and secondary freight partners.

Required profile

• 8+ years of international logistics, freight forwarding, or global supply chain experience, including at least 3 years in a senior managerial role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field; APICS/CSCP or CILT certification preferred.
• Proven track record of auditing, scoring, and managing global freight forwarders and 3PL networks.

Required skills

• Deep practical knowledge of Incoterms 2020 and global trade compliance.
• Expertise in customs regulations and import/export documentation.
• Strong proficiency in total landed‑cost modeling and freight budget management.
• Experience with RFP creation, negotiation, and vendor management.
