Resident Manager / Hotel Manager – Governor's Residence

About the role

The Resident Manager/Hotel Manager will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of Governor’s Residence, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while preserving the property’s unique heritage. This highly visible, hands‑on leader balances service excellence, commercial performance, people development, and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Hotel: Take overall responsibility for daily operations as the key operational leader and second‑in‑command to the General Manager.
• Deliver Exceptional Guest Experience: Champion personalized, warm, high‑quality hospitality for guests, VIPs, and repeat visitors.
• Drive Hotel Performance: Manage revenue, GOP, cost control, productivity and service quality.
• Lead & Develop People: Inspire department heads and teams, fostering a culture of teamwork, respect, integrity and innovation.
• Protect the Heritage: Preserve and enhance the unique heritage, gardens, architecture and distinctive guest experience.
• Ensure Operational Excellence: Maintain high standards across Rooms, F&B, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security and all guest‑facing operations.
• Build Business Relationships: Collaborate with Sales & Marketing and external partners to support growth and market presence.
• Lead with Visibility: Be a hands‑on, approachable leader actively present with guests and employees.

Required profile

• Minimum 8–10 years of progressive hotel management experience.
• At least 3–5 years in a senior hotel leadership role such as Hotel Manager, Resident Manager, Operations Manager or Executive Assistant Manager.
• Experience in luxury, upscale, boutique, heritage or international‑standard hotels is preferred.
• Strong background managing multiple hotel departments and multicultural teams.
• Demonstrated expertise in guest experience, financial management, people leadership and operational improvement.
• Good command of Myanmar and English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays and as needed.
• Excellent business writing skills – short, concise and precise.
