Project Assistant – Malaria Project (Mongmit Township)

About the role

The Project Assistant will support the delivery of life‑saving malaria services in Mongmit Township, Northern Shan State. Working under the guidance of the Project Coordinator, you will help plan, implement and monitor activities that aim to reduce malaria transmission and improve case management in a challenging security environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Coordinator in preparing work plans and field activities for the malaria project.
• Collect, verify and submit monthly reports on volunteer activities and project outputs.
• Support capacity‑building trainings and workshops for malaria volunteers and other stakeholders.
• Conduct regular monitoring visits to project villages, report findings and propose action plans.
• Deliver health‑education sessions and behavior‑change communication to promote community participation in malaria prevention.
• Help with procurement of supplies, maintenance of equipment and logistical needs.
• Coordinate with local authorities, community leaders and township focal persons to maintain operational access.
• Participate in malaria case reporting, investigation and related surveys.

Required profile

• Experience or familiarity with health or malaria project implementation.
• Ability to work in complex security and access‑restricted environments.
• Willingness to travel frequently (over 12 days per month) to remote villages.
• Good communication skills for interacting with volunteers, beneficiaries and local officials.
