Programme Specialist – Humanitarian Coordination & GBV (P4)

About the role

The Programme Specialist, Humanitarian Coordination and Gender-Based Violence will be based in Yangon and will support UNFPA’s humanitarian response and GBV prevention and response programming in Myanmar. Reporting to the UNFPA Deputy Representative, the role combines technical, operational and coordination functions to strengthen UNFPA’s impact in crisis-affected communities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational support to UNFPA’s humanitarian response and gender-based violence and early intervention (GBViE) programmes.
• Coordinate with UN agencies, NGOs, civil-society partners and government actors to ensure effective humanitarian coordination.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of GBV prevention, response and monitoring mechanisms.
• Support external relations, communications, partnership-building and resource mobilisation activities.
• Assist in the preparation of reports, briefs and strategic documents aligned with UNFPA’s Country Programme and Strategic Plan.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in humanitarian coordination and gender-based violence programming.
• Strong knowledge of UN system processes and the Myanmar humanitarian context.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and to manage programme resources responsibly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
