Operations Technician – Power Plant

About the role

The Operations Technician will be responsible for day‑to‑day field operation of key plant equipment including gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSG, water treatment and waste water facilities at our Myingyan site. You will work closely with the Boardman and Shift Charge Engineer to ensure safe and efficient plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor gas turbine, steam turbine, HRSG, balance of plant, water treatment, de‑mineralised water and waste water treatment systems.
• Conduct daily routine tasks, including HRSG sampling and condition monitoring, and record readings in log sheets.
• Coordinate equipment isolation and normalization with the Shift Charge Engineer and Boardman following Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) and Lock‑out/Tag‑out (LOTO) procedures.
• Maintain records of operational activities, consumables and raise maintenance requests in SAP for any equipment malfunction.
• Participate in safety teams such as fire warden, first aid and emergency response.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Professional diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in a power plant or related process plant environment.
• Understanding of PTW and LOTO systems and basic boiler water chemistry is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and P&ID drawings.
• Basic English reading and speaking skills.
