Operations Manager – Claims & Shared Services

About the role

Ulink Assist Myanmar is looking for an Operations Manager to lead and optimise its claims and shared services functions. The role combines strategic planning, compliance oversight and day‑to‑day operational management to support top insurers in Myanmar.

Key responsibilities

• Support Shared Services leadership with planning, staffing, quality control, regulatory compliance, resource allocation and problem solving.
• Identify and eliminate operational barriers that affect efficiency and execution.
• Manage existing and new claims‑related programmes, ensuring policy compliance and participating in quality‑control initiatives.
• Gather, organise and analyse data to spot local issues, trends and opportunities, and present recommendations to leadership.
• Lead projects that may involve in‑depth research and analysis.
• Maintain performance on internal audit and state compliance measures, including key controls and regulations.
• Participate in cross‑functional working groups and keep leadership updated on activities and impacts.
• Coordinate and assist with training workshops and programme facilitation.
• Lead resolution of urgent operational cases, ensuring timely assessment and decision‑making.
• Prioritise competing operational demands by dynamically allocating team resources to meet SLAs and business objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant experience; insurance industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of claims operating structures, insurance products, policies, procedures and claims systems/technology.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to identify key issues and creatively overcome internal challenges.
• Proven decision‑making ability and strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and aptitude to learn new applications.
• Self‑motivated individual contributor who also works well within a team.
• Immediate availability is preferred.
