MEAL Officer (Humanitarian)

About the role

The MEAL Officer (Humanitarian) will support the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of humanitarian programmes funded through the Humanitarian Fund. Reporting to the Senior Humanitarian Manager, the role ensures data quality and timely reporting across all thematic sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data management mechanisms in line with SCI MEAL procedures.
• Collect, consolidate and verify field‑level output data for all humanitarian sectors (WASH, Shelter/NFI, FSL, Child Protection, etc.).
• Manage monthly collection of project outputs from Area Offices and update the Country Office output tracker within strict deadlines.
• Analyse data to assess progress against HF targets, identify gaps and support corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Area‑level MEAL staff to strengthen MEAL systems and address data quality issues.
• Lead regular surveys and Post‑Distribution Monitoring activities as required by project log‑frames.
• Design and implement innovative MEAL methodologies and communication channels to improve qualitative data collection and accelerate data flow.

Required profile

• Experience in humanitarian data management and monitoring & evaluation.
• Familiarity with multi‑sectoral humanitarian programmes and related output indicators.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high‑quality reports.
• Strong collaboration skills with MEAL, program and operations teams.
