Industrial Engineering (IE) Manager

About the role

The Industrial Engineering (IE) Manager will lead productivity and efficiency initiatives across cutting, sewing, finishing and packing operations in a garment manufacturing plant. You will be responsible for capacity planning, workflow optimisation and continuous improvement to maximise output while reducing waste.

Key responsibilities

• Lead factory‑wide capacity planning and productivity improvement programmes.
• Conduct time‑and‑motion studies and establish accurate Standard Allowed Minutes (SAM).
• Optimise sewing line balancing, manpower allocation and production flow.
• Improve cutting efficiency and fabric utilisation.
• Streamline finishing and packing processes.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, VSM, Kanban, Kaizen and SMED.
• Monitor productivity performance, identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Develop productivity‑based incentive and performance management systems.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Planning, HR, Finance, Maintenance and Management teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Apparel Production Technology, Textile Engineering or a related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive IE experience in garment manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Professional proficiency in both Chinese and English.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced AutoCAD.
• Strong MS Excel and Power BI.
• Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• GSD / PMTS / work measurement systems.
• Digital production tracking and ERP systems (preferred).
