Head of Programmes – Myanmar

About the role

People in Need is seeking a senior leader to head its Myanmar programme. The Head of Programmes will join the Country Management Team and be responsible for the overall quality, impact and strategic direction of all projects in the country.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the Country Strategic Plan, work plan and programme reviews.
• Ensure all programmes comply with PIN policies, strategies and guidelines.
• Design and maintain a Programme Risk Matrix tailored to the Myanmar context.
• Oversee results‑based monitoring and evaluation systems and use findings to shape future programme strategy.
• Represent PIN to donors and partners, showcasing thematic expertise and localisation work.
• Guide fundraising strategy and coordinate with the Head of Operations and Finance on resource mobilisation.
• Supervise project teams to guarantee timely, efficient and high‑impact delivery.

Required profile

• Significant senior‑level experience in humanitarian or development programme management.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Strong understanding of results‑based M&E, risk management and donor reporting.
• Experience working with local civil‑society partners in conflict‑affected or disaster‑prone settings.
