Elevator Fitter – Installation & Maintenance

About the role

Jardine Schindler is seeking a skilled Fitter to join its Yangon team. You will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining elevators and escalators, ensuring safe and reliable operation for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints and technical drawings to determine required equipment.
• Install elevator doors, cables, motors, and control systems.
• Locate and diagnose malfunctions in brakes, motors, switches, and control systems.
• Connect electrical wiring to control panels and electric motors.
• Use test equipment such as ammeters and voltmeters to verify performance.
• Adjust counterweights, door mechanisms, and safety controls.
• Test newly installed equipment to confirm it meets specifications.
• Comply with safety regulations and building codes.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, OR a diploma in electronics/electrical/mechanical engineering, OR secondary education with relevant work experience.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Basic proficiency in written and spoken English.
• 1‑2 years of experience in elevator installation, construction, or related field operations.
• Physically fit to lift and handle heavy equipment and parts.
• Well‑organized with strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel locally as required.
