Elevator Fitter – Installation & Maintenance

About the role

Join Schindler's Yangon team as an Elevator Fitter, responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining elevators and escalators. You will work on-site, ensuring equipment meets safety standards and operates flawlessly.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints to determine required equipment for installations.
• Install elevator doors, cables, motors, and control systems.
• Locate and diagnose malfunctions in brakes, motors, switches, and control systems.
• Connect electrical wiring to control panels and electric motors.
• Use test equipment such as ammeters and voltmeters to diagnose problems.
• Adjust counterweights, door mechanisms, and safety controls.
• Test newly installed equipment to verify compliance with specifications.
• Comply with safety regulations and building codes.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a diploma in electronics, electrical, or mechanical engineering, or secondary education with relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and English (written and spoken).
• 1‑2 years of experience in elevator, construction, or related field operations.
• Physically fit to handle and lift heavy equipment.
• Well‑organized with strong attention to detail and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Available to travel locally as needed.
