Capitaine – Direction d'équipage et manœuvres portuaires

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Captain to lead a flying crew, manage vessel maintenance and conduct port towing and docking operations for Groupe Océan’s fleet. The role involves working across multiple port sites and the maintenance unit, with travel required as operational needs dictate.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the crew and ensure safe execution of manoeuvres.
• Verify that the vessel and crew hold required certifications for the operating area.
• Oversee vessel management, including crew, equipment and administrative tasks.
• Maintain vessel navigability under all conditions.
• Validate repair and modification lists with the chief engineer.
• Inspect materials, structures and equipment according to the SINEX maintenance program.
• Apply and audit the company Safety Management System (SMS).
• Operate vessels following company and industry best practices.
• Participate in professional development training and assist in creating training programs.
• Support the Maritime Expertise Centre (CEMO) with documentation and SMS improvements.
• Contribute to health, safety and environmental management activities.

Required profile

• Valid Captain’s licence (500tx).
• Maritime medical certificate.
• STCW Basic Safety (CF FUM) certification.
• Rescue boat operation and small craft certification (CA FUM).
• Advanced fire‑fighting certification (CF FUM TALI/AFF).
• Elementary sea first aid certification (CF Secourisme).
• Restricted radio operator certificate.
• Proven autonomy, leadership and positive team management.
