Assistant Manager (Security Engineer)

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Manager (Security Engineer) to lead the design, implementation and operation of enterprise‑wide security solutions. The position is within a regulated financial institution and requires strong technical expertise combined with the ability to guide security projects from concept through production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM/PAM and DLP platforms.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert across network, endpoint, application, cloud and identity security.
• Lead security reviews for new technologies, projects and infrastructure changes.
• Manage vulnerability assessments, remediation tracking and risk prioritisation.
• Coordinate penetration testing and develop SIEM use cases and correlation rules.
• Perform threat hunting, security monitoring and advanced incident investigations.
• Lead technical response during cybersecurity incidents, including containment and recovery.
• Create automation scripts and SOAR workflows to improve security operations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security team members.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain security documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of cybersecurity or security engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in banking, financial services or another regulated industry.
• Hands‑on experience with security technologies such as firewalls, SIEM, EDR/XDR, WAF, IAM/PAM and DLP.
• Strong knowledge of network security, vulnerability management and incident response.
• Proficiency in scripting/automation using Python, PowerShell or similar.
• Understanding of Windows, Linux, TCP/IP, cryptography and security architecture.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GCIA, ITIL) are a plus.
