Assistant Manager, Finance

About the role

Prudential is seeking an Assistant Manager to support its Finance function, focusing on insurance‑related financial operations. You will ensure accurate calculation of incentives and commissions, maintain strong financial controls, and deliver reliable reporting to aid decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day finance operations for insurance transactions, including premiums, claims, refunds, and system administration.
• Calculate and process compensations for bank partners and agents accurately and on time.
• Coordinate with stakeholders on new products, projects, and system integrations as the finance subject‑matter expert.
• Oversee monthly closing activities, including accruals, reserves, and budgeting for insurance operations.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, IFRS standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain internal controls, support audit readiness, and perform balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with regulatory reporting in partnership with the Finance Reporting team.
• Liaise with external auditors and banks as needed.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and support SOP and system enhancements (e.g., SunSystems).
• Provide guidance to junior finance staff and support the Finance Manager on ad‑hoc strategic tasks.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of finance or accounting experience, preferably in the insurance industry.
• 1–2 years in a supervisory or assistant‑manager role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an ACCA qualification (Part II) or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with effective communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
