Assistant Accountant – Support Financial Operations

About the role

The Assistant Accountant supports day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records and assisting with reporting, reconciliations, tax compliance and audit preparation. This position reports to the Senior Accountant and contributes to the overall financial integrity of the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including General Ledger, accounts payable/receivable and cash book.
• Support monthly closing activities and the preparation of financial statements.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor petty‑cash transactions.
• Assist in tax filing, compliance documentation and audit preparation.
• Maintain proper filing of vouchers, invoices and supporting documents.
• Provide support to senior accountants in budgeting and reporting tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Basic knowledge of IFRS/MFRS and Myanmar tax regulations (advantageous).
• Experience in the construction industry preferred.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Good organizational and time‑management skills, able to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills in English and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Honest, responsible and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
