Agronomist – Field Research & Farmer Support

About the role

As an Agronomist you will work closely with the Product Development and Management teams to design and implement field research that creates affordable, climate‑resilient solutions for Myanmar smallholder farmers. You will also provide real‑time technical support to Crop Advisors and the Contact Centre, and develop training materials to boost farm productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Design field‑testing methodology and oversee trials for new products and practices.
• Provide real‑time technical support to Crop Advisors, Contact Centre, Digital Sales and Marketing teams.
• Develop training materials on farm management and deliver training to farmers and staff.
• Monitor evolving farmer needs and incorporate innovative, environmentally friendly practices.
• Conduct occasional field trips to gather feedback from sales teams and farmers for service improvement.

Required profile

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Agricultural Science.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in agricultural extension, research, or farm‑practice training.
• Strong knowledge of agricultural science and ability to communicate techniques effectively.
• Innovative, target‑oriented researcher with proven teamwork and relationship‑building skills.
• Passionate about improving Myanmar’s agricultural sector and uplifting rural farmers.
• Fluent in English and Myanmar with excellent communication abilities.
• High digital and IT literacy, comfortable using modern workplace technologies.
