Accounting Manager – New Project

About the role

The Accounting Manager will support the Chief Accountant in overseeing the company’s financial operations for a new project. This senior position ensures accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and strong financial controls while leading a small accounting team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Maintain the general ledger, reconcile bank, AR and AP accounts.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes in line with accounting standards.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws, prepare tax filings and coordinate audits.
• Strengthen internal control systems and maintain audit documentation.
• Supervise, train and review the work of junior accounting staff.
• Monitor cash flow, manage payments, collections and banking relationships.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and ERP systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certification such as ACCA or CPA preferred.
• 5–8+ years of accounting experience, including 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in real‑estate or construction is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Myanmar taxation law and financial regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software.
• Familiarity with ERP/accounting system enhancements.
