Accounting Manager – New Project

About the role

The Accounting Manager will support the Chief Accountant in overseeing the company’s financial operations for a new project. This role ensures accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and strong financial controls while leading a small accounting team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Maintain the general ledger, reconcile bank, AR and AP accounts.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Provide financial insights to aid management decisions.
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws, prepare tax filings and coordinate audits.
• Strengthen internal control systems and maintain audit documentation.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, reviewing their work for accuracy.
• Monitor cash flow, manage payments, collections and banking relationships.
• Identify and implement process improvements and support ERP/accounting system enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA or equivalent) preferred.
• 5‑8+ years of accounting experience, including 2‑3 years in a supervisory or senior role.
• Experience in real‑estate or construction finance is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and Myanmar taxation law.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail and leadership ability.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP or accounting system enhancements.
• In‑depth knowledge of Myanmar Taxation Law.
