Head of Programmes – Myanmar

About the role

As a member of the Country Management Team, the Head of Programmes will jointly ensure the effective management and development of People in Need’s Myanmar programme. The role supervises all projects, guarantees timely implementation, and drives quality and impact through results‑based monitoring and evaluation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the Country Strategic Plan, work plan and programme reviews, ensuring alignment with PIN policies and localisation strategy.
• Oversee programme budgeting, donor proposal design, reporting, and financial tracking to maintain fiscal stability and compliance.
• Manage senior programme staff, plan HR and capacity‑building needs, and ensure safeguarding, MEAL and risk‑management procedures are operational.
• Represent PIN with donors, partners and coordination fora, building strategic partnerships and advocating for beneficiary needs.

Required profile

• Higher‑education degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in a relevant field.
• Proven senior humanitarian programming experience, including project cycle management, team leadership and proposal development.
• Strong understanding of quality standards, safeguarding and accountability mechanisms.
• Excellent communication in English, critical analysis, problem‑solving and ability to work under pressure.

What we offer

• Salary based on PIN’s scale: 3,250 – 3,500 EUR super‑gross per month.
• Monthly subsistence allowance of 1,395 EUR and accommodation provided.
