About the role
UNICEF Myanmar is establishing a roster of pre‑qualified national and international experts to provide rapid, high‑quality technical advisory and operational support on Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE). The roster will cover Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASC) and may be engaged for sudden‑onset emergencies, humanitarian scale‑ups or transition periods.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical programme support such as rapid assessments, situation analysis and adaptation of CPiE tools and guidance.
- Offer planning and coordination assistance, including inter‑sectoral planning, emergency response plans and humanitarian appeals.
- Support monitoring and reporting, preparing briefing notes, documenting good practices and lessons learned.
Required profile
- Advanced university degree in fields such as Social Work, International Development, Human Rights, Psychology, Public Health or related disciplines.
- 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in child protection, with at least 5 years of direct CPiE experience in humanitarian settings.
- Experience supporting emergency responses, coordination mechanisms and working with UN agencies, NGOs or partners.
Required skills
- Knowledge of Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPMS) and UNICEF’s Core Commitments for Children.
- Familiarity with inter‑agency case management guidelines, child safeguarding, PSEA and accountability to affected populations.
- Technical expertise in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) or Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASC) as applicable.
