Chief Engineer (Civil) – Head of Project

About the role

The Chief Engineer (Civil) will lead large‑scale construction projects, ensuring that engineering designs, schedules, and resources align with client expectations and regulatory standards. This senior position combines technical oversight with team leadership to drive project success from concept to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project schedules, heavy‑machinery allocation, material delivery, and site labor productivity.
• Approve engineering drawings, structural designs, and construction methods.
• Manage and mentor site engineers, project managers, and technical staff.
• Ensure compliance with local safety laws and construction codes.
• Enforce strict QA/QC data validation and quality standards.
• Control budgets, material costs, labor allocations, contractor payments, and equipment procurement.
• Identify and resolve complex site issues, design conflicts, and risk scenarios.
• Coordinate with geotechnical, hydraulic, environmental, and utility‑relocation specialists.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in civil engineering project management.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and building codes.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
