Lab Executive – Thermal Operations (Power Plant)

About the role

The Lab Executive will support safe and efficient operation of a combined‑cycle power station by conducting laboratory and on‑site water‑treatment analyses. This position is based in Myingyan, Mandalay, Myanmar and reports to the designated supervisory team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform periodic and ad‑hoc sampling, laboratory and on‑site analysis, including jar tests, to support power‑plant operations.
• Calibrate laboratory equipment regularly to ensure accurate test results.
• Maintain good housekeeping, manage laboratory waste disposal, and comply with environmental regulations.
• Manage laboratory inventory, prepare reagents and standard solutions, and maintain equipment.
• Carry out chemical dosing, sludge level measurement, SDI testing, and other field work.
• Inspect incoming chemical deliveries and conduct concentration analysis.
• Respond promptly to water‑treatment plant upset conditions.
• Perform daily laboratory activities while adhering to safety procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science or Water Management.
• 1–2 years of experience in a power‑plant or process‑related laboratory environment.
• Basic proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Familiarity with water‑treatment systems and related analytical procedures.
