National Consultant – Communications & Advocacy

About the role

The National Consultant on Communications and Advocacy will support UNFPA Myanmar in planning and implementing communication strategies that raise the visibility of the agency’s mandate on sexual and reproductive health, gender equality and population dynamics. The role ensures continuity of advocacy activities during the transition of the fixed‑term Communications and Advocacy Analyst.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in promoting the ICPD agenda by disseminating strategic information and materials and tracking local media trends.
• Support the incoming Communications and Advocacy Analyst with analytical frameworks, knowledge assets and research materials to ensure programme continuity.
• Develop, review and co‑draft advocacy materials such as factsheets, presentations, briefs, web stories and human‑interest stories.
• Ensure all communication products comply with UN editorial guidelines and UNFPA branding, and maintain active networks with partners, NGOs and media.
• Draft media briefings, press releases and background notes, and help organise press conferences or partner events.
• Prepare communication inputs, success stories and articles for regional/HQ platforms, UNFPA newsletters and social‑media channels.
