Legal Counsel

About the role

ZTE Myanmar is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal and compliance support, focusing on foreign‑related matters, cross‑border transactions, trade, investment, and dispute resolution. The role involves advising business units, drafting and negotiating contracts, and managing legal risks across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, revise and negotiate domestic and foreign‑related legal documents, ensuring commercial appropriateness and regulatory compliance.
• Provide legal support for foreign trade, investment and commercial projects, including participation in negotiations with partners, customers and suppliers.
• Conduct legal risk assessments, issue opinions and recommendations on cross‑border transactions.
• Represent the company in foreign‑related litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution, offering practical strategies to mitigate risks.
• Perform legal research on relevant laws and regulations and develop training programs for employees and management.
• Identify potential legal risks in business activities and support the implementation of risk‑mitigation measures.
• Handle additional legal, regulatory and compliance matters as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (or higher). Legal professional qualification preferred.
• At least 2 years of relevant legal experience for bachelor holders, or 1 year for master’s holders.
• Experience in foreign‑related legal practice, cross‑border transactions, international trade, investment, corporate law, dispute resolution or compliance is highly preferred.
• English and Burmese proficiency required.
