General Manager – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

The General Manager is accountable for the overall leadership, management and performance of the company’s manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, efficient, cost‑effective, high‑quality and timely production while maximising the use of manpower, machinery and materials.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacturing & Production Management – lead factory operations, set production targets, monitor quantity, quality, cost, delivery and safety (QCDS) and equipment effectiveness.
• Operational Management – establish SOPs, coordinate across production, QA/QC, engineering, procurement, logistics and finance to ensure smooth flow from raw material to delivery.
• Leadership & People Management – coach production heads, set KPIs, drive a culture of accountability, discipline and continuous improvement.
• Engineering & Maintenance Management – oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, approve equipment upgrades and support automation projects.
• R&D / New Product Development – provide operational support for Home Care, Juice, Energy Drink and Electrolyte Beverage projects, ensuring scalability and cost‑effectiveness.
• Strategic Planning & Business Growth – participate in long‑term capacity planning, evaluate automation opportunities and recommend investments.
• Management Reporting & Decision Making – prepare regular performance reports for senior leadership and act on critical operational risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Manufacturing or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10–15 years progressive experience in manufacturing or factory operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management role such as Plant Manager or General Manager.
• Professional certifications or training in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, GMP, HACCP, ISO, Food Safety, Quality Management, OHS or Project Management are an advantage.
