Technical Officer (Data & AI Project Delivery)

About the role

The Technical Officer is responsible for coordinating and managing the execution of enterprise data and AI initiatives. The role oversees the day‑to‑day operations of the Data & AI team, ensures projects are delivered on schedule, and serves as the primary operational contact point across business and technology teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage enterprise Data & AI initiatives such as Master Data Management, Data Warehouse, AI platform and onboarding integration.
• Develop project plans, timelines and track milestones.
• Manage day‑to‑day activities of the Data & AI team.
• Assign and coordinate tasks across engineers, DBAs and developers.
• Act as the primary operational contact point across business and technology teams.
• Provide status updates and reporting to the Head of Data & AI.
• Ensure delivery aligns with defined architecture, standards and governance.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in project coordination, IT delivery or technical program management.
• Proven experience working with data or engineering teams on enterprise technology projects.
• Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle and MSSQL in on‑premises and cloud environments (Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, Data Lake).
• Strong knowledge of data warehouse architecture, ETL processes and metadata management.
• Understanding of data security, permissions, recovery and monitoring.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams.
• Financial services industry knowledge is preferred.

Required skills

• Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Master Data Management (MDM/ECIF) environments.
• ETL tools such as Pentaho, Talend, Informatica or Azure Data Factory.
• SQL and relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• API integration and enterprise system connectivity.
• DevOps practices (CI/CD, Git) and environment management (Dev/UAT/Prod).
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) or on‑premise infrastructure.
• Monitoring, scheduling and logging tools.
• Project management tools like Jira and Confluence.
