Tax Manager

About the role

The Tax Manager will lead the tax function in Myanmar, ensuring full compliance with local tax laws and aligning tax strategy with the company's broader financial objectives. This senior position acts as a bridge between market tax strategies and corporate finance, driving efficient tax planning and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and oversee tax strategy in line with corporate policies.
• Manage tax risks, monitor legislative changes, and proactively mitigate potential exposures.
• Supervise tax and customs audits, tax litigations, and liaison with tax authorities.
• Lead, develop, and coach the local tax team.
• Ensure timely preparation, review, and filing of direct and indirect tax returns, computations, provisions, and payments.
• Provide tax input during business model changes, new initiatives, and sourcing decisions.
• Coordinate with Finance, Legal, GSC, and other stakeholders to integrate tax considerations.
• Assist the Cluster Tax Director on South‑Asia projects as needed.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Myanmar tax laws and regulations.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a tax team.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on risk mitigation and tax efficiency.
