Senior IP Core Network Engineer

About the role

The Senior Engineer will lead planning, operation and optimisation of the IP Core and Access Network. The role involves hands‑on support, troubleshooting and 24/7 standby for Level‑3 escalations in a fast‑paced ISP and data‑center environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design, implement and operate IP Core and Access Network infrastructure.
• Support and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, OLTs and related devices.
• Monitor network performance, execute upgrades and optimise traffic flow.
• Prepare MOP/SOP documentation for migrations and projects.
• Coordinate with upstream service providers (Level‑2/3) to restore services within SLA.
• Manage escalated customer tickets from NOC and call‑center teams.
• Design and document data‑center, core and metro (POP) setups, including HLD, LLD and power calculations.
• Oversee IP Transit, CDN and PNI peering arrangements.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of experience in ISP and data‑center network environments.
• CCNP certification mandatory; CCIE is a strong advantage.
• Proven ability to follow SOPs, produce incident reports and drive service‑improvement plans.

Required skills

• TCP/IP, VPN, VRF, MPLS, OSPF, ISIS, BGP, CGNAT, BNG.
• GPON technology and IP security/firewall expertise.
• Network design, testing, implementation and documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills.
• Experience with routers, switches, firewalls and OLT devices.
