Senior Data Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain the company’s data infrastructure, pipelines, and data marts. The role will integrate data from ERP, mobile apps, POS, finance systems and Microsoft Power Platform, delivering reliable, governed datasets for analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines from multiple source systems, handling APIs, databases, files and ensuring incremental loading and scheduling.
• Build and optimise data warehouse and data mart structures using dimensional modelling, creating fact and dimension tables for BI reporting.
• Implement data quality, validation and reconciliation processes, and automate data quality checks.
• Collaborate with BI analysts, IT, finance, HR and application teams to translate analytical requirements into technical solutions and support dashboard refreshes.
• Monitor pipeline performance, set up alerts, investigate incidents and participate in data migration and system integration projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering or a related field.
• 2–4+ years of professional experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development and data warehousing.
• Proven track record of delivering production‑grade data pipelines and working with multiple source systems.

Required skills

• Strong SQL proficiency (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server or similar) and query optimisation.
• Experience with data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue or dbt.
• Hands‑on knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS services like S3, RDS, Glue, Lambda, Redshift).
• Programming in Python for data processing and automation; shell scripting is a plus.
• Working with REST APIs and handling structured and semi‑structured data (JSON).
