Senior Auditor

About the role

The Senior Auditor will lead financial, operational and inventory audits to verify record accuracy, assess internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies. Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager and Assistant Audit Manager, the role plays a critical part in identifying risks and recommending improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct financial, operational and inventory audits according to the approved audit plan.
• Review financial transactions, income, expenses and supporting documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Perform physical inventory verification and reconcile stock with system records.
• Identify discrepancies, control weaknesses, inefficiencies and potential irregularities.
• Evaluate internal controls and suggest enhancements to strengthen business processes.
• Prepare audit working papers, findings and professional audit reports.
• Follow up on audit findings and corrective actions with relevant departments.
• Investigate significant discrepancies and report findings to the Executive Auditor.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of financial, business and other sensitive information.
• Support special audits and other assignments as directed by the Executive Auditor.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, accounting, finance or inventory control.
• Experience in financial auditing, inventory verification and internal controls is preferred.
• Experience in trading, distribution, FMCG, pharmaceutical or retail industries is an advantage.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, LCCI Level III, CIA or similar are preferred.
