Risk Engineer – Building & Property Assessments

About the role

We are looking for a Risk Engineer to conduct building and property risk assessments for insurance purposes, focusing on construction, structural condition and potential damage exposures. The role supports underwriting, loss prevention and overall property risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct building and property risk assessments for commercial and industrial risks.
• Assess construction, structural condition, materials, age, alterations and overall physical condition.
• Identify building and structural risks, including seismic and natural catastrophe exposures.
• Prepare risk assessment reports with clear findings and practical recommendations.
• Support underwriting, claims and business development teams on risk‑related matters and keep updated on building standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 2–3 years experience in construction/structural engineering, building assessment or property inspection.
• Good knowledge of building construction and structural condition assessment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and report‑writing abilities.
• Ability to conduct site visits independently and proficient in Microsoft Office.
