OSS Senior Engineer – Telecom Operations

About the role

The OSS Senior Engineer will be responsible for the health, availability and continuous improvement of the Network Management Systems (NMS) and Element Management Systems (EMS) across radio, transmission, IP transport and core domains. Reporting to the Service Assurance Senior Manager, the role works within the Data Engineering, Analytics and Service Assurance division to ensure network performance meets corporate targets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine housekeeping, maintenance and upgrades of NMS/EMS platforms (e.g., Nokia NetAct, ZTE U31/UME) to ensure optimal performance and vendor‑recommended configurations.
• Provide Tier‑2/3 support for complex incidents, coordinate with L3 teams, and manage critical faults and outages to minimize service impact.
• Administer server health, security, backups, user access and daily health checks across Unix, Linux and Windows environments.
• Develop and maintain northbound and southbound interfaces, reporting suites, KPI dashboards and automation scripts (Perl, Shell) for performance management.
• Lead integration projects with third‑party OSS tools (FM, PM, CM, TTS, VMAX, Groundhog) and ensure successful data exchange with BSS and other systems.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of telecom experience, including at least 2 years in a senior OSS/EMS role within a telecom operator or vendor.
• Proven leadership and vendor‑management skills, with experience overseeing managed‑service partners and coordinating upgrades.
• Strong knowledge of mobile network technologies (2G/3G/4G) and multivendor OSS environments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Communication or a related field.
• Fluent English (both written and spoken); Burmese language is a plus.
