Head of Finance

About the role

The Head of Finance will lead UNOPS Myanmar’s finance unit, ensuring sound financial management and integrity of substantial development programmes. This senior position also acts as Deputy to the Head of Support Services, providing cross‑functional operational oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical financial advice to MMCO projects, programmes and senior management.
• Prepare and present performance management reports to enable informed decision‑making.
• Advise senior leadership on cost‑reduction strategies and financial performance against annual targets.
• Review, analyse and finalise cost estimates and budget proposals, ensuring compliance with UNOPS and client pricing policies.
• Participate in the development and implementation of MMCO’s business plan as a strategic partner.
• Support operational continuity across the broader Support Services Unit as Deputy to the Head of Support Services.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to deliver strategic financial advice and performance reporting.
• Experience advising senior leadership on cost optimisation and resource allocation.
• Proven track record in budgeting, cost estimation and financial analysis within large development programmes.
