Head Accountant

About the role

The Head Accountant will lead the accounting function, ensuring accurate daily operations, compliance with new standards, and effective coordination with branch teams. This senior position reports to the Senior Chief Accountant and the Head of Finance, providing critical financial insight for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and verify all accounting processes and daily operations.
• Implement new accounting standards and oversee software roll‑outs.
• Coordinate with branch accounting staff and related officers.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports as directed.
• Manage budget performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Submit required monthly reports to IBRB (Myanmar Insurance).
• Handle tax filing and assessments, including commercial, income, and capital gains taxes.
• Support internal and external audit teams during financial statement reviews.
• Resolve accounting issues promptly and provide detailed reports to senior finance leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CAP certificate or professional qualification (e.g., Dip in Accounting, ACCA Part II) preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of management experience, preferably in a Chief Accountant or similar senior role.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive, adaptable to new systems, with strong integrity and accountability.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
