Deputy Head of Primary

About the role

The Deputy Head of Primary will support the Head of Primary in managing academic and operational activities, ensuring high‑quality teaching and positive student outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Support curriculum implementation, lesson planning, assessment and monitor student progress.
• Conduct classroom observations, provide feedback and help identify learning gaps.
• Supervise and develop teachers, assist with performance reviews, coaching and professional development.
• Manage daily operations such as timetables, cover arrangements, attendance, behaviour and safeguarding procedures.
• Communicate with parents on academic or behavioural matters and promote a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Prepare departmental reports, attend meetings and act on behalf of the Head of Primary when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; teaching qualification preferred.
• 4–5 years of teaching experience with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of primary curriculum, assessment and classroom management.
• Excellent communication, coordination and team‑leadership abilities.
• Experience in an international school environment is an advantage.
