Business Development Director

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Director to lead a high‑impact team of 12+ professionals for a diversified Myanmar‑based group operating across energy, oil & gas, power, real estate, infrastructure and other strategic investments. Reporting to senior management, you will own the end‑to‑end process of identifying, originating and assessing new growth opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of 12+ business development professionals.
• Originate new deals, partnerships, joint ventures and investment opportunities across target markets.
• Build and nurture relationships with business owners, investors, partners and key stakeholders.
• Conduct preliminary market research, commercial and feasibility studies, competitive analysis and risk assessments.
• Manage the overall BD pipeline, set qualification standards and prioritize opportunities.
• Monitor industry trends and ensure the group maintains visibility of emerging opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven track record in business development leadership, deal origination and market expansion.
• Experience in energy, oil & gas, power, infrastructure, real estate or diversified investment groups.
• Strong senior‑level networks, stakeholder management, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is a plus.
