Accounting Manager

About the role

The Accounting Manager will lead the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with Myanmar tax regulations, and effective management of the accounting team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Payroll and Inventory.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing and reporting.
• Maintain complete and accurate financial records in line with accounting standards and company policies.
• Prepare financial reports and deliver insights to support business decisions.
• Guarantee compliance with Myanmar tax laws (Commercial Tax, Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Tax, Personal Income Tax) and monitor regulatory changes.
• Develop, implement and strengthen internal control policies and financial procedures.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and resolve audit findings promptly.
• Perform reconciliations and preserve the integrity of ERP accounting records.
• Manage and optimise the ERP accounting system, ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting.
• Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team, delegating responsibilities and monitoring performance.
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting, conduct variance analysis and provide financial recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA or ACCA qualification (or currently pursuing) is highly preferred.
• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial or senior role.
• Strong knowledge of Myanmar taxation, accounting standards and financial regulations.
• Experience in wholesale, import & export, manufacturing, distribution, trading or FMCG sectors is an advantage.
• Proficiency in both Myanmar and English (written and spoken).
