Accountability Officer

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an Accountability Officer to support the Client Feedback and Safeguarding Mechanism (CFSM) in Myanmar. Reporting to the Accountability Manager, you will ensure client feedback is captured, managed, and responded to in line with IRC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Administer feedback channels (hotlines, suggestion boxes, interviews) and register client complaints.
• Maintain confidentiality, route feedback to appropriate staff, and keep complainants informed of case status.
• Manage data entry, storage, and reporting using IRC software, preparing monthly and annual CFSM reports.
• Develop and deliver IEC materials, training, and awareness sessions for staff, partners, and community members.
• Support rapid needs assessments and large‑scale evaluation activities as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Public Administration, Gender Studies, Development Studies or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in MEAL, complaints handling, or community engagement within humanitarian programmes.
• Experience working with vulnerable and marginalized populations in UN/INGO contexts.

Required skills

• Excellent listening and communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with mobile data collection tools (smartphones or tablets).
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced, cross‑cultural environment.
