Teaching Assistant

About the role

The Teaching Assistant position at MISY Mandalay is a full‑time, on‑site role supporting classroom teachers in delivering the English National Curriculum. You will work closely with learners in small groups or one‑to‑one, reinforcing key concepts and helping maintain a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in lesson delivery and preparation of teaching materials.
• Organise and facilitate learning activities that align with the curriculum.
• Provide targeted support to learners individually or in small groups.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and support social‑emotional development.
• Supervise learners during breaks and monitor safety.
• Assist with assessments, record‑keeping and reporting.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure an inclusive, safe and engaging environment.

Required profile

• Strong assistant‑teaching abilities and classroom‑management experience.
• Effective communication skills with learners, teachers and families.
• Background or training in education, preferably familiar with the English National Curriculum.
• Competence in mathematics to support numeracy activities.
• Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
• Good written and spoken English proficiency.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural school environment.
• Organisational reliability and a positive attitude toward professional development.
• Relevant diploma or degree in education or a related field is preferred.
