Teaching Assistant (Early Years Level)

About the role

The Teaching Assistant will support the classroom teacher at Kings Yangon School, helping to deliver high-quality early years education. You will assist with lesson preparation, provide individualized support, and help maintain a safe, engaging learning environment for young learners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in preparing and delivering lessons, including setting up equipment and gathering materials.
• Provide one-to-one or small-group support to students who need extra help or need to catch up.
• Monitor student behavior and ensure safety during class, lunch, field trips and other school activities.
• Collaborate with the teacher to identify student needs and develop effective solutions.
• Document student progress and communicate updates to teachers and parents.
• Help create lesson plans aligned with the curriculum and student needs.
• Participate in training, parent conferences, faculty meetings and other school events.
• Perform additional duties as required to support student success and school operations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; ECCD certification preferred.
• Some college coursework in education or a related field is a plus.
• Experience working with children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Initiative, willingness to learn and ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
