Supermarket Branch Manager

About the role

The Supermarket Branch Manager leads all aspects of store operations, from sales and financial performance to staff management and customer experience. This role ensures a profitable, safe, and efficient shopping environment while maintaining compliance with company standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations across all departments (produce, deli, bakery, stock, cashiering, etc.) and enforce operational policies.
• Manage inventory control, monitor stock levels, and coordinate receiving to minimise waste and out‑of‑stock situations.
• Develop and control the annual budget, analyse sales and profit reports, and implement strategies to increase revenue.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate store staff, fostering a positive work environment.
• Ensure excellent customer service, address complaints promptly, and maintain the branch’s reputation in the community.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and security regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3‑5+ years of management experience in a high‑volume retail or grocery environment.
• Strong leadership, commercial acumen, and operational management skills.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and adaptability to work flexible hours.

Required skills

• Proficiency with retail management software.
• Experience using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
