Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead day‑to‑day accounting operations for a growing gold and jewellery business. Based on‑site in Yawnghwe, the role ensures accurate financial reporting, cash‑flow monitoring and support for budgeting and forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, record journal entries and manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Perform bank reconciliations and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Monitor cash flow, support budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Review inventory valuation and cost of goods sold for gold and jewellery items.
• Coordinate with external auditors and assist with tax filings.
• Provide financial analysis and guidance to senior management.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting and statutory compliance.
• Proven experience managing daily accounting operations, including GL, AP/AR and bank reconciliations.
• Ability to analyze financial data, prepare management reports and support budgeting.
• Familiarity with inventory accounting and cost tracking in a product‑based or retail environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent is a plus.
• Several years of progressive accounting experience, including senior or supervisory responsibilities.
• High level of integrity, discretion and commitment to ethical financial practices.

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills (Microsoft Excel).
