Senior Accountant

About the role

Global Wave Technology is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Yangon office. This full‑time, on‑site position will lead the company’s accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, manage accounts payable and receivable, and execute month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and ensure adherence to local accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Support external audits by coordinating documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Monitor budgets, cash flow, and perform financial analysis to provide actionable insights to management.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Maintain robust internal controls across all accounting activities.

Required profile

• Strong professional experience in financial accounting, reporting, and month‑/year‑end closing.
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management with the ability to present clear recommendations.
• Solid knowledge of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and audit processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, ACCA or similar certification is a plus.
• Experience in the technology or multi‑industry environment is beneficial.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills and experience guiding junior team members.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Yangon and thrive in a fast‑paced, growing business.
