Provisioning Officer

About the role

The Provisioning Officer oversees the bank’s credit loss provisioning process, ensuring the integrity of provision models, analysing risk data and supporting regulatory and management reporting. The role works closely with multiple departments to guarantee timely and accurate provisioning while contributing to forecasting and scenario analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update and optimise credit loss provisioning models in line with IFRS 9/ECL standards.
• Manage the end‑to‑end provisioning process, including data collection, validation, sanity checks and manual adjustments.
• Analyse monthly provision movements, identify drivers and recommend adjustments.
• Collaborate with branch networks and business units to obtain valuation data and incorporate new products into the model.
• Provide provision figures for internal management, regulatory reporting and forecasting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, accounting, finance or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in banking, financial institutions or accounting/provisioning.
• Proficiency in written and spoken Burmese and English.
• Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail and professional communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Statistical and data‑analysis tools such as SAS, R or Python.
