Protection Team Leader – Child Protection

About the role

The Protection Team Leader – Child Protection provides technical leadership and day‑to‑day management of child protection programmes across multiple locations in Rakhine State, Myanmar. Reporting to the Protection Project Manager, the role ensures high‑quality implementation, coordination and capacity building of staff and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update and monitor weekly and monthly work plans aligned with project indicators and donor targets.
• Lead and coordinate child protection activities, ensuring compliance with DRC policies, donor requirements, CPMS and inter‑agency guidelines.
• Supervise Protection Officers, Assistants and incentive workers; conduct regular coaching, performance feedback and workload planning.
• Oversee case management from identification to closure, ensuring accurate data entry in Primero/CPIMS+ and regular quality checks.
• Facilitate case conferences, monitor referral pathways and support emergency child protection responses.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing child protection programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Strong knowledge of Child Protection Minimum Standards, inter‑agency case management guidelines and child safeguarding principles.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and evaluate multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent planning, monitoring and reporting skills.
