Project Assistant – Debris and Waste Management

About the role

The Project Assistant will support the Debris and Waste Management team within UNDP's Earthquake Response – Community‑Led Recovery and Reconstruction Project in central Myanmar. The role provides essential operational, administrative and logistical assistance to ensure smooth implementation of debris removal, waste recycling and hazardous‑waste management activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Associate in coordinating debris removal, demolition and recycling operations across affected townships.
• Maintain project documentation, prepare routine reports and update databases.
• Support financial and logistical coordination, including procurement of equipment and tracking of expenditures.
• Facilitate public awareness campaigns on safe waste handling and hazardous‑waste disposal.
• Help establish community‑run recycling centres and related livelihood activities.

Required profile

• Relevant secondary or tertiary education or equivalent experience in project support, logistics or environmental services.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a post‑disaster context.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
