Programme Assistant – Saving Lives Together

About the role

The Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) is seeking a Programme Assistant to support the Saving Lives Together (SLT) framework in Myanmar. Based in Yangon, you will work under the Chief Security Adviser to help coordinate security collaboration between the United Nations and humanitarian partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating and implementing the SLT programme across Myanmar.
• Research, compile and analyse data related to security programmes and present findings.
• Support preparation and monitoring of programme proposals, ensuring documentation is complete and submitted for approval.
• Facilitate workshops, trainings and field visits as required to strengthen security risk management among partners.
• Maintain records of programme activities and contribute to regular reporting.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent experience in security, international relations, humanitarian affairs or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work in complex, high‑risk environments.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Willingness to travel within Myanmar for field activities.
