Operations Director

About the role

We are seeking an Operations Director to lead the operational delivery of our programmes across multiple countries. The role will provide strategic direction, ensure compliance with organisational standards and drive high‑impact, low‑cost project implementation for vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and monitor operational strategies aligned with the three‑year strategic plan and global framework.
• Collaborate with Zonal Managers, Grant Management Manager and Technical Program Managers to ensure all projects follow the WVM operational manual.
• Oversee budgets, funding allocations and expenditure for all programmes, ensuring financial compliance and efficient resource use.
• Secure human‑resource, funding, training and coaching to maintain compliance with LEAP standards and best‑practice guidelines.
• Manage audit processes, distribute findings and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Provide donor service and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, support offices and community partners.
• Coordinate HR, finance and technical sectors between field offices and project teams.
• Monitor project progress through regular site visits and support quality assurance.
• Integrate sectoral activities, including advocacy and HEA, into operational plans.
• Plan and manage relief and rehabilitation programmes according to country needs.
• Report programme issues to the National Director and maintain networks with NGOs and government officials.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in operations management within an international NGO or humanitarian setting.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting and compliance standards.
• Excellent coordination skills across HR, finance and technical functions.
• Ability to travel frequently to field sites and engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Effective communication and relationship‑building with donors, partners and government agencies.
