Monitoring Specialist – Programme Data Strategy (P‑4)

About the role

UNICEF Myanmar is seeking a Monitoring Specialist to strengthen its programme monitoring system in line with the updated strategy and risk management framework. The role provides high‑level technical support for large‑scale projects funded by International Financial Institutions and other complex initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for monitoring of major IFI‑funded and large‑scale projects.
• Ensure a sound, coherent results‑monitoring system, especially in complex humanitarian contexts.
• Guide the development and maintenance of a reliable Programme Data and Information Management System.
• Represent UNICEF Myanmar in technical discussions and coordination with donors, UN agencies, and implementing partners.
• Oversee high‑value third‑party contracts and ensure compliance with monitoring standards.
• Facilitate networking and inter‑agency partnerships to enhance monitoring effectiveness.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Information Management, Development Studies or a related field.
• Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation of large‑scale, multi‑partner projects.
• Experience working with International Financial Institutions and donor coordination.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Chief of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and collaborate across UNICEF sections.
